GIRSAL strengthens collaboration in Ghana’s agricultural sector

Although growing at an annual average rate of about five per cent over ten years (2012-2021), agriculture has the potential to contribute even more to Ghana’s society. However, various challenges hamper its competitiveness and limit the sector’s domestic and global growth.

Still, the agricultural sector faces various challenges, including ineffective collaboration, policy incoherence, weak regulatory compliance and enforcement and duplication of efforts across intervention areas. Resolving these bottlenecks calls for a holistic, cross-cutting approach that engages actors within the sector.

The Ghana Incentive-Based Risk-Sharing System for Agricultural Lending (GIRSAL), through its Technical Assistance Facility, conceived and developed the Agriculture Stakeholder Convening and Advocacy Platform (ASCAP) to help find solutions to issues in the agriculture sector.
