Ouangolodougou – The women’s agricultural cooperative “Association Sabarykagni” of Mambiadougou, in the sub-prefecture of Kaouara (department of Ouangolodougou), donated food to the school canteen of the public primary school (EPP) of the village.
Supervised by the National Agency for Support to Rural Development (ANADER) as part of the “Marc Govern Dole” project, the association donated a total of 504 kg of beans, 1.5 T of rice and five tons of corn to the EPP Mambiadougou school canteen on Wednesday, December 4, 2024.
According to the spokesperson for the donors, Ms. Ouattara Siéfénon, this donation responds to the call launched to the communities to replace the World Food Program (WFP) which is withdrawing from the supply of school canteens in Côte d’Ivoire.
“It was the ANADER advisor of Ferkessédougou who informed us during a working session that we should replace the World Food Programme to feed the students when it no longer provides food. Immediately, he instructed us to cultivate a field,” explained Mrs. Ouattara who assured of the commitment of the women of the village to work together to provide food to the school at all times.
For the beneficiaries, represented by student Coulibaly Sama Sabine in CM2 class, “these provisions will help create an environment conducive to learning and the development of all students in this school.”
On behalf of the Minister of National Education and Literacy, Regional Director Sévédé Anzoumana expressed his gratitude to the donors for their action in favor of the Ivorian school. “What you give, you do to your children, it’s true, but it’s to the State of Côte d’Ivoire. The State of Côte d’Ivoire asked that you accompany us and that’s what you are doing. Thank you for this gesture,” he said.
The Sub-Prefect of Kaouara, Mr. Coulibaly N’golo Idrissa, welcomed the unity that prevailed for the implementation of this project and invited all the other localities in his administrative district to follow the example of the village of Mambiadougou.
