The Africa Fertilizer Financing Mechanism (the Mechanism) will launch the Fertilizer Financing for Sustainable Agriculture Management Project on 14 June 2024, aiming to boost access to fertilizer for 300,000 smallholder farmers in Mozambique.
The official launch ceremony will feature several distinguished speakers:

Marie Claire Kalihangabo, Coordinator, Africa Fertilizer Financing Mechanism

Michael Sudarkasa, CEO, African Fertilizer Agribusiness Partnership
The project will provide a $2 million partial trade credit guarantee for fertilizer suppliers and distributors for the delivery of 60,000 tons of fertilizer. It will also offer a $877,980 grant to support soil health activities and training for smallholder farmers.
The Mechanism will collaborate with the African Fertilizer and Agribusiness Partnership(link is external) to implement this project.
The Africa Fertilizer Financing Mechanism, administered by the African Development Bank Group, is a special fund that provides innovative financing solutions to increase fertilizer usage and improve agricultural productivity across the Bank’s regional member countries.
